We want to pay tribute to one of our most cherished rituals: that moment when the meal comes to an end, but nobody is in a hurry to leave the table. “La sobremesa” as an expression of a Mediterranean way of understanding time: sharing, talking, enjoying and letting moments linger.<\/p>\n

“La sobremesa” begins when the plates are already empty. The table is cleared, coffee arrives, someone brings a bottle of sparkling wine<\/strong> and the conversation continues. Because there is no set length to “la sobremesa”. It can last twenty minutes or, almost without realising it, turn into an entire afternoon. It is that space between one thing and the next when there is nothing you need to do. And that is precisely why it is so enjoyable.<\/p>\n

A tradition that is uniquely ours<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Mediterranean culture<\/strong>, the table is much more than a place to eat. It is a meeting point. A place to celebrate, talk, welcome others and share. “La sobremesa” reflects a way of relating to time in which not everything needs to be productive or have a purpose. Sometimes, it is simply about staying a little longer. Talking about what has happened, remembering an anecdote, debating about anything at all or simply enjoying the silence. Without looking at the clock.<\/p>\n

What does a good “sobremesa” need? Very little, really.<\/p>\n
