The study will reveal the reality of the terroir, analyzing in depth the 4 key elements that make it up: relief, geology, climate and diversity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This initiative will allow a better understanding of the composition of each of its plots to achieve a better planting of the different varieties and will further enhance the value of the old vineyard.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The history of Juv\u00e9 & Camps is linked to the production of high quality cavas, specifically Grans Reserves. On its centenary and with the aim of continuing the excellent work of so many generations, the winery has set out to get to know each hectare of its Espiells estate to perfection for later planning and exploitation of the vineyard.<\/p>\n

“To define the terroir, it is very important to know the four elements that make it up: the relief, the geology, the climate and the biodiversity,” says Joaqu\u00edn C\u00e1mara, executive director of Diagnoterra and in charge of the project. At the beginning of April, Juv\u00e9 & Camps began the project to study the soil of the Espiells estate, opening 76 trenches, between 1.5 and 2 meters deep each, depending on the effective depth of the roots. ; that is, up to 80% of the root system.<\/p>\n

C\u00e1mara will do a thorough work that involves a thorough physical study of the terrain to be able to describe and categorize the different layers and that will be completed with physicochemical analyzes of the composition of the soils. In this way, it will be known which minerals and in what percentages there are, as well as the pH, the richness in organic matter, among other values \u200b\u200bof the soils. In addition, up to 260 boreholes (small perforations) will be carried out to define the boundaries of each plot.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis study will allow us to know in depth the reality of our terroir and will help us to understand the composition and the state of each vineyard to be able to work it better and to value, at the time of the plantation, which would be the best variety for in each plot \u201d, points out Pep Jim\u00e9nez, director of viticulture of Juv\u00e9 & Camps. In addition, the study will highlight the old vineyards. According to Jim\u00e9nez, “when you open a ditch and check the reach of the roots and their network, you realize the great value you have in the subsoil and the great loss of uprooting it.”<\/p>\n

The study will delimit and map the areas, depending on the parameters that define the medium. All these actions will be used to plan and order the cultivation of the vineyard.<\/p>\n

Juv\u00e9 & Camps will be able to create management units for the optimization of the management of the floor and of the crop like base for the planning of input and the design of the viticulture of precision. In the same way, it will have at its disposal the realization of economic and technical studies of viability of the aprovechamiento, of lands with vineyard and also of the manufacturing of optimum designs for the improvement of the crop. All this includes the selection of experimental plots located in each of the previously distinguished areas as the basis of the research.<\/p>\n

With this study, Juv\u00e9 & Camps highlights its long tradition in the care of the vineyard, in the tradition and in the philosophy of elaboration of its cavas that, from the vineyard to the glass, receive all the necessary attention. .
