The Government of Catalonia has awarded Joan Juvé Santacana, President of Juvé & Camps, the President Macià Labour Medal 2025, one of the country’s oldest institutional honours, established in 1938 to recognise individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the economic and social progress of Catalonia.
In this year’s edition, the Government has awarded the President Macià Labour Medal to 18 individuals and the President Macià Labour Plaque to 6 organisations. These distinctions recognise outstanding professional careers, as well as personal merits, achievements and services rendered for the benefit of the public interest.
The award recognises Joan Juvé Santacana’s career as a leading figure in the Catalan wine sector and his contribution to the international recognition of sparkling wines. During his tenure at the helm of Juvé & Camps, he has strengthened some of the winery’s most emblematic wines and helped reinforce the brand’s global positioning, combining family tradition with a business vision focused on quality, innovation and a strong commitment to the land.
Joan Juvé Santacana has also played an active role in several industry organisations, contributing to the protection, promotion and recognition of sparkling wines as a product of international quality.
“Receiving this distinction is an immense honour. I see it as a recognition that goes far beyond myself: it is also a tribute to all the generations that came before me and to everyone who has made the Juvé & Camps project possible.
I have been fortunate to dedicate my life to sparkling wine, to our land and to a family business that has always sought to move forward without losing its roots. For this reason, this recognition is, above all, a source of gratitude and shared pride,” says Joan Juvé, President of Juvé & Camps.
The President Macià Labour Medal will be presented to him at a ceremony to be held on 6 July at 6:00 p.m. at the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, presided over by President Salvador Illa.
