The leading winery in the production of Cavas Gran Reserva has hosted the inauguration of the meeting organized by INNOVI with a morning where innovative products and services have been presented that will help to face some of the challenges that the wine sector is experiencing today.
The Wine Innovation Week, promoted by the INNOVI cluster, was presented today, March 9th, at the Juvé & Camps century-old winery, together with nearly a hundred professionals from the technical and viticulture sectors, including gathered different technicians from the Department of Agriculture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and INCAVI.
During the morning, on the opening day of the congress, Juan Jódar, president of INNOVI and director of operations of Juvé & Camps, stressed the need to continue working on innovation and research in the wine sector in order to protect vineyards now and in the future to guarantee and preserve the terroir and landscape of the area.
Next, a series of presentations and demonstrations have been carried out, such as the Saher sensorized Vortex with variable dosage; the Scorpion-Teyme project, a robotic platform to work on terraced vineyards; the robot for capturing data from the Eurecat vineyard; and also the soil comparison sensors of Estel’s Dismex project.

In the afternoon, the topic focused on technology applied to improving vineyard management, specific software and products that help predict, among other factors, what the harvest will be like, possible vine diseases (RawData), improve profitability (Agroptima) and how to better manage the field by satellite (Novatec) or the vineyard (Terra View).
The sessions that will take place from March 9th to 11th, have a demonstrative vocation that covers different areas of innovation within viticulture such as oenology, marketing and commercialization. With the focus on robotics, sensors and the digitization of processes, companies in the sector have joined this first edition in order to continue supporting the work carried out by INNOVI.
