The Juvé & Camps winery is added as a new patron in the Foundation for the Culture of Wine (FCV), formed by the prestigious wineries Terras Gauda, Herederos del Marqués de Riscal, La Rioja Alta, S.A., Muga, Vega Sicilia, Pago de Carraovejas, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The winery, integrated within the J&C Prime Brands group and a pioneer in long aging and the Brut Nature style, is one of the most reputable and recognized producers of sparkling wines and quality wines from Penedès (Sant Sadurní d’Anoia) and has a great international presence. For Meritxell Juvé, the fourth generation of the family and head of the winery, his commitment and contribution to the FCV represents “an immense honor to become part of this prestigious group of wineries that work together for the quality wine heritage of our country, its promotion and its dissemination”.
Meritxell Juvé is the first woman to head her winery, whose historical legacy as winegrowers dates back to 1796, and to 1921 as producers, continuing the witness of her father, Joan Juvé, who has worked so hard throughout his life to improve the production of top quality sparkling wines in our country. According to Meritxell, being part of this select and visionary group is an added value to the work of our winery: “The work that has been carried out for years by the Foundation is essential, we share 100% its fundamental values, such as promoting excellence of the wines and rigor, and the increasingly growing need to spread the culture of wine”.
From a human level, Meritxell Juvé shares many values with the rest of the patrons: “My family is wine and the passion that I have lived throughout my life and my father has transmitted to me, I carry it in my blood.” “My first memories are in the vineyard at home.” However, to lead Juvé & Camps, Meritxell had to make his way outside of home before assuming his current position and subsequently went through all the departments to understand from within all the needs and delve into the learnings of each area, both in sparkling , as in still wines, as in the importation of large international wine brands. Aware of the current reality, its great commitment is based on always continuing to offer the highest quality, committed to excellence and internationalization.
The current president of the FCV, CEO of Pago de Carraovejas, part of the Alma Carraovejas group, celebrates the incorporation of Juvé & Camps to the board of trustees at the time when the 30 years of the Foundation’s history are commemorated. “The entry of J&C shares the ideology with the values shared by all patrons for the projection and protection of wine culture. Furthermore, it represents one of the standards of the wines made in Spain, among them, the sparkling wines made in Penedés and which identify the best cavas in our country. In the person of Meritxell Juvé and the historical work of Juvé & Camps, the common principles are projected to disseminate the culture of wine, respect, sustainability, uniqueness and generational succession that is so important in family wineries, from the respect for the past and the construction of a future adapted to new concerns with strong commitments.”
With the arrival of Juvé & Camps to the board of trustees, the Foundation begins a new stage to explore and revitalize new horizons through its board of trustees and respond to its commitment to promoting wine culture in the face of new social and cultural needs.
