1,500 bottles of a Gran Reserva Brut Nature from the oldest pinot noir vineyard in Penedés.
The third vintage of this exceptional sparkling wine, produced only when the excellence of its grapes allows it, limited and with disgorgements on demand, finally hits the market.
In a word: exceptional. Siberia 2015, the most exclusive Gran Reserva Brut Nature from Juvé & Camps, comes to the market after three years of waiting since its last vintage, 2012, and eight years of aging. This parcel rosé, from the oldest pinot noir vineyard in the Penedès, a small vineyard of 1.3 hectares and more than 40 years old located in one of the coldest areas of the estate, is a single varietal with more than 100 months of aging. which returns, in this third vintage since its launch, to surprise with its complexity and delicacy.
Siberia is conceived as an exclusive sparkling wine that is only made when the grapes allow it due to their excellence, as in the case of the 2015. This vintage, despite its low rainfall, already showed its full potential from the vineyard and , thanks to the characteristics of the plot, its water reserve and location in one of the coolest areas, it was able to retain enough water to give us a raw material with a perfect acidity for its long aging. A harvest by hand and minimal intervention applied throughout the process, which involves careful craftsmanship that results in the finesse and depth that this product deserves. The result is a great sparkling wine with a very long aging that reinforces the positioning and expertise of the Penedés winery, Juvé & Camps.
The most personal history of this extraordinary wine dates back to 1984, the year in which the family decided to preserve a small plot of just over one hectare of pinot noir, a variety recently introduced to the region at that time. Those who carried out the pruning in that vineyard baptized the area as “La Siberia” due to its cold temperatures due to its location, surrounded by a forest and a stream; a nickname that gave its name to this wine of incomparable character.
Meritxell Juvé, CEO and 4th generation of the family, states that “it is a work of art sculpted by time, with very little and very limited elaboration. We have been waiting for three years, since 2012, to enjoy this last and third vintage of La Siberia, and the wait has been worth it.”
Siberia 2015 reaffirms its elegance and creaminess, consolidating itself as one of the most unique sparkling wines from the century-old house. Those who have the pleasure of tasting it will discover, in every sip, the essence of a unique terroir and a high level of excellence and quality, symbols of the winery’s philosophy that has led to the creation of this wine treasure. Rosé, numbered, impressive.
