We meet with Meritxell Juvé, 4th generation of the Juvé family in charge of the centenary winery so that she can tell us what novelties we will see in the future and what her favorite cavas and wines are.

What will the project “The next 100 years, plot by plot” consist of?

The next 100 years of Juvé & Camps begin with a reparcelling project. We have been working on a reparcelling project in the vineyard for more than five years. We have two sparkling wines that are already from estate vineyards: Juvé & Camps La Capella and Juvé & Camps La Siberia. For the next 100 years, we are going to try to ensure that many more elaborated from the house can also express the terroir from which they come.

A cava to celebrate?

My cava to celebrate is the Reserva de la Familia, among other things, because it is the cava that the Juvé family, since its production, since its first launch on the market in 1976, chose for its own consumption. At that time, brut nature cavas were not the cavas that were consumed on the market and it was a revolution. The family has been celebrating great occasions for 40 years with our most iconic cava: Reserva de la Familia.

A wine to conquer?

Lately, there is a wine to conquer that I am very excited about: Pagos de Anguix · El Rosado. It is the last wine that we have launched in the house. It is a claret style rosé and the truth is that last year, when we launched it on the market, it was a tremendous success and this year it is also doing very well in sales. For the summer, it is a wine that will conquer many people.

Your favorite corner to enjoy a Gran Juvé & Camps?

In the vineyard from which it comes, which is in the Propietat d’Espiells. There is no more iconic place to taste a bottle of this Gran Reserva, of the highest range that Juvé & Camps has, than from the vineyards from which it comes. Vineyards that have belonged to the Juvé family for more than 3 generations.

In this centenary, is it possible to visit the Juvé & Camps cellars?

At Juvé & Camps we always say that we have been entering people’s homes for 100 years during the beautiful moments of their lives and we believed that, after 100 years, it was time to let people enter ours to see how we produce, from the vineyard to the long ageing, the sparkling wines from Juvé & Camps. So on this centenary, we are very excited to be able to announce that we are opening the doors of our house, our vineyard, our winery so that people come to learn a little more about what Juvé & Camps is and how we do things.

Thank you very much for your attention and congratulations on these 100 years.
