Vinos Iohannes y Therasia de Propietat d'Espiells, Juvé & Camps

The centuries-old history of Juvé & Camps is strongly rooted in the land, the Penedès and the family. There are now four generations dedicated to viticulture to produce sparkling and still wines.

The history of Juvé & Camps products is closely linked to the family. For this reason, some of the sparkling wines and wines have names inspired by moments in history, emblematic places of the territory or members of the Juvé family.

The wine duo from Propietat d’Espiells Iohannes & Therasia are a tribute to the founders of the winery and have been named in honor of Joan Juvé and Teresa Camps.

Joan Juvé Baqués, son of Antoni Juvé Escaiola, and Teresa Camps Ferrer enabled the underground facilities of the Sant Sadurní d’Anoia manor house to produce the first sparkling wine under the Juvé brand. In fact, Teresa Camps is one of the few women who appear in the monograph of 100 historical figures of Spanish wine, edited by Vadevino.

Iohannes red wine is made exclusively in exceptional vintages. It has its origin in Mediona and comes from vineyards planted 700 meters above sea level.

The long macerations are revealed in its intense red color and the depth of its fruity notes (black currants, plums, blackberries, cherries) that determine its aromatic profile along with the nuances of barrel aging (cinnamon, cloves, vanilla). . As it settles in the glass, it gives off memories of candied fruit, fig bread and roasted coffee. The palate is full and vigorous, with velvety tannins and exuberant sensations of ripe fruit that reappear in the immense finish. A great red wine for aging that ensures a harmonious evolution for at least a decade.

Therasia white wine is made with a careful blend of Xarel·lo, Chardonnay and Viognier, only in special vintages. It has been carefully prepared and aged in new French oak and acacia barrels, as well as in clay and ceramic amphorae, maintaining contact with its own lees with the purpose of achieving the maximum expression of these noble varietals.

Its aroma is dominated by fleshy stone fruits (peach and apricot), as well as notes of syrup and honey, all surrounded by a discreet floral background (lavender). On the palate, its incredibly delicious texture stands out, accompanied by great freshness and long persistence in which all its aromatic complexity reappears.
